At the La Ronde amusement park, which was accommodated on the eastern half of Sainte-Hélène's island, there were not only the usual rides, restaurants and beer halls, but also a yacht harbor and an imitation of Fort Edmonton, which was intended to conjure up a little of the atmosphere and disrepute of the wild west with a striptease show in the saloon. The chief architect of Expo '67, Eduard Fiset, and his team had also worked with great care here to design smaller objects such as ticket booths and also larger buildings such as the aquarium with its dolphin show in accordance with uniform standards. The pearl of the site was the Gyrotron, in which a six-minute and into the throat of a volcano was offered with the aid of sound and film installations. At night, the aluminum frame structure was bathed in an attractive red light, whereas during the day it shone resplendent in gleaming silver.
